Product Description

XLNT MMA 250-2A Inverter Welding Machine for Fabrication and Repair

The XLNT MMA 250-2A Inverter Arc Welding Machine is a compact welding unit designed for fabrication, repair, maintenance and workshop applications. It combines an adjustable 40–155A welding-output range with a portable 3.2kg body, integrated carrying handle and long welding cables.

The machine has a listed input-voltage specification of 220V/380V ±15% and operates at 50/60Hz. Its adjustable output allows the operator to select the welding current according to the electrode, metal thickness, joint preparation and welding requirement.

A digital display and front current-adjustment control are visible on the machine, allowing the user to monitor and adjust the welding setting during operation.

Adjustable 40–155A Welding Output

The XLNT MMA 250-2A has a verified output-current range of 40 to 155 amps.

This adjustable range helps the operator select a suitable current according to:

  • Electrode type
  • Electrode diameter
  • Metal thickness
  • Joint design
  • Welding position
  • Surface preparation
  • Input-voltage condition
  • Operator technique

The model name includes “250,” but the confirmed technical output range ends at 155A. The machine should therefore not be advertised as delivering a verified 250A output.

Using excessive current may create heavy spatter, overheating or burn-through. Insufficient current can lead to electrode sticking, unstable arc performance and poor weld penetration.

Listed 220V/380V Dual-Voltage Input

The welding machine has a listed input-voltage specification of:

220V/380V ±15%

This indicates compatibility with two voltage classes according to the technical sheet. However, the electrical connection, plug, input configuration and supply phase should be checked before connecting the machine.

The machine should only be installed and operated using wiring, circuit protection and sockets suitable for its rated electrical requirements.

The rated input current is listed as 14.5A.

50/60Hz Frequency Compatibility

The XLNT MMA 250-2A supports a listed frequency of 50/60Hz.

This allows the machine to operate with compatible electrical supplies within the confirmed voltage and frequency range.

An undersized extension cable should not be used because it may create voltage drop, cable heating and unstable welding performance.

60% Duty Cycle

The machine has a listed 60% duty cycle.

Duty cycle represents the permitted welding time within a defined operating period under specified test conditions. It does not mean that the welder can operate indefinitely without cooling.

Actual welding and cooling requirements may vary according to:

  • Selected output current
  • Ambient temperature
  • Ventilation
  • Electrode size
  • Input voltage
  • Length of the welding session

Keep the ventilation openings clear and allow the machine to cool when required.

63V No-Load Voltage

The XLNT MMA 250-2A has a listed no-load voltage of 63V.

No-load voltage is present at the welding output before an arc is established. Users should avoid touching the electrode, holder contacts, output connectors or other exposed conductive components while the machine is powered.

Place the electrode holder on an insulated surface whenever welding is paused.

85% Listed Efficiency

The welding machine has a listed efficiency of 85%.

This specification describes the electrical conversion performance under the applicable test conditions. It should be presented as a manufacturer-listed value rather than an independently certified performance result.

The machine also has a listed power factor of 0.85.

F-Class Insulation

The XLNT MMA 250-2A has a listed Class F insulation grade.

The welding machine should still be positioned in a ventilated area where the cooling openings are not blocked by walls, fabric, dust or other equipment.

Grinding dust, metal particles and welding residue should be prevented from entering the ventilation openings.

IP21 Housing Protection

The machine has a listed IP21 housing-protection grade.

It should be protected from:

  • Rain
  • Standing water
  • Wet flooring
  • Excessive moisture
  • Water spray
  • Outdoor exposure during unsuitable weather

Place the welder on a dry, firm and stable surface during operation.

Lightweight 3.2kg Portable Body

The machine has a listed net weight of 3.2kg.

Its compact body and integrated top carrying handle make it easier to move between workshop, repair and job-site locations.

Switch off and unplug the machine before carrying it. Welding cables should be disconnected or secured so they do not drag during transportation.

Compact Machine Dimensions

The listed dimensions are:

235 √ó 155 √ó 195mm

This compact construction makes the welder easier to store and transport than larger transformer-style machines.

Leave enough open space around the machine for proper ventilation during use.

Digital Display and Current Adjustment

A digital display and rotary adjustment control are visible on the front panel.

The display helps the operator view the selected welding setting, while the adjustment knob allows the output to be changed within the verified 40–155A range.

The precise display behaviour may vary according to whether the machine is idle, adjusting current or actively welding.

3-Metre Electrode-Holder Cable

The XLNT MMA 250-2A includes an electrode holder with a 3-metre cable.

The electrode holder grips the welding electrode and carries welding current during operation.

Before welding:

  • Insert the electrode securely
  • Check the holder insulation
  • Inspect the cable for damage
  • Tighten the output connection
  • Keep the holder away from conductive surfaces

A damaged or overheated holder should be replaced before further use.

3-Metre Earth-Clamp Cable

An earth clamp with a 3-metre cable is also included.

The earth clamp completes the welding circuit by connecting securely to the workpiece or a clean conductive surface.

For better contact:

  • Remove heavy paint or rust
  • Attach the clamp to exposed metal
  • Keep the jaws clean
  • Ensure the connector is fully tightened
  • Avoid loose or overheated connections

Poor earth contact may cause unstable arc starting, excessive heat and inconsistent welding.

Suitable Applications

The XLNT MMA 250-2A can be considered for:

  • General MMA electrode welding
  • Metal fabrication
  • Workshop repairs
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Gate and grill repair
  • On-site repair tasks
  • Joining compatible metal sections
  • Household metal repairs
  • Maintenance welding
  • Portable workshop applications

Actual suitability depends on the electrode, material, thickness, joint preparation and selected current.

Welding Safety Guidance

Use an approved welding helmet, welding gloves, protective clothing and suitable safety footwear.

Carry out welding in a ventilated location away from:

  • Fuel
  • Paint
  • Paper
  • Sawdust
  • Gas cylinders
  • Flammable chemicals
  • Combustible materials

Inspect the power cable, electrode holder, earth clamp, output connectors and machine body before every use.

Disconnect the machine before changing connections, cleaning the unit or inspecting the cables.
